The Attendance Area Two Board of Trustees recognized outstanding achievement at their meeting on May 7th. Students who were recognized as Junior Scholars, based on their PSAT scores, students who had perfect attendance for the third marking period, and the Honor Roll teachers for next year were all given commendations. Congratulations to all!

The Attendance Area 2 Board was able to recognize achievement at the meeting held on March 5th. Mullins High School was recognized by the State Department of Education, in a letter from Superintendent of Education Mick Zais, for significant gains on the SAT and ACT scores by students from Mullins High School. Principal Becky Ford read the letter from Dr. Zais to the board. The faculty will be recognized at the meeting scheduled for March 26th at 7:30 pm.

Also recognized were students doing great things. LaVern Page, president of the Future Business Leaders of America, was given a certificate to commemorate the great showing made by the Mullins HS FBLA in a state-wide competition last month. Also, basketball players Dmitri Reaves and Niesha Godfrey were recognized for being selected for the Mullin HS Basketball family North/South Basketball teams. Dmitri and his mother were able to "walk the Board" for congratulations, and Niesha's Mom attended as well.

Local School Boards Get Recognized

At the regular meeting of the Attendance Area Two on January 8th, the Board members were honored for the service to the schools and communities of the Mullins area. Board members were presented with certificates, and the local schools sent gestures of appreciation for their dedication.

A Quarter-Century of Service

Board Vice Chair John Hughes has been in the news a lot lately! Not only is he the current President of the South Carolina School Boards Association, but he was just recognized by that same organization for having achieved 25 years of service as a Board member! Congratulations, and keep up the good work!
