The Attendance Area One Board of Trustees recognized outstanding achievement at their meeting on May 7th.  Students who were recognized as Junior Scholars, based on their PSAT scores, students selected for Duke University's Talent Identification Program, students who had perfect attendance for the third marking period, and the Honor Roll teachers for next year were all given commendations.  Congratulations to all!

The Attendance Area One Board was able to celebrate achievement at the meeting on March 5th.  The Board recognized Marion High School principal Alfred McFadden on being named Region 2A Administator of the Year by the South Carolina Athletic Directors Association.  Afterwards, Mr. McFadden called his staff up to celebrate being recognized by the state for achievement in school SAT and ACT scores (see story on home page).

Congratulations to our Board members!  January is National School Board Recognition Month, and Marion County has the best!  The Attendance Area One board was recognized at Tuesday night's regular meeting.  Dr. Strickland, Dr. Bethea and Judy Johnson from the Marion Chamber of Commerce presented certificates and gifts to show the board how much the district and the community appreciates their service.

The South Carolina School Boards Association has recognized member Lynn McElveen for 25 years of service!  That's a quarter century of representing her community in making education decisions and in serving the schools.  Thanks so much!
